2019 FORD EVEREST REVEALED, HERE IN FOURTH QUARTER

Khodrocar - The updated 2019 Ford Everest has been revealed and detailed this week, ahead of an Australian launch in the fourth quarter of this year.

Following the related Ranger ute, the refreshed Everest line-up is headlined by the availability of a new 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel engine from the Ranger Raptor, making 157kW of power and 500Nm of torque – the latter available from 1750rpm.

The new powertrain comes as standard with a new 10-speed automatic transmission, which as a combination is claimed to improve driveability, smoothness, and cabin refinement both on- and off-road. Fuel use is rated at 6.9L/100km on the combined cycle (Trend RWD).

Ford's new 2.0-litre diesel is optional on the Trend and standard on Titanium-specced cars, while the carryover 3.2-litre five-cylinder oiler remains standard on entry-level Ambiente and Trend grades.

Other updates include the availability of the company's latest driver assistance systems, such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection (standard on Trend and Titanium grades), along with comfort and convenience features like a hands-free tailgate (Trend/Titanium), and an available semi-autonomous park assist system.

All models now come as standard with Sync 3 featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with in-built satellite navigation. Ford will give buyers complementary map updates for up to seven years after purchase when scheduled servicing is completed at a participating dealer.

In terms of design changes, the Everest gets subtle updates like a new grille treatment, HID headlights on the Trend grade, and new 20-inch alloys for Titanium models.

Meanwhile, the interior gets a new 'ebony' dark colour scheme, and more soft-touch surfaces in "contact points around the cabin".

Ford has also made changes to the suspension geometry for improved ride and handling, along with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for models equipped with the bi-turbo diesel – claimed to be "markedly quieter" than the 3.2-litre engine.

The 2019 Ford Everest will launch in Australia during the fourth quarter of 2018.
